'Revenge' 213 "Union" Review

ABC
Throughout this season of Revenge we’ve seen Emily Thorne go on quite the emotional rollercoaster, but she almost always remained calm, collected, and closed off.  In tonight’s episode we see Emily be more raw than we have in two years.
It was the perfect storm for Emily, her childhood sweetheart marrying the woman he thinks is her and the man she loves now seemingly giving up on her.  As far as the wedding goes, it was quite the adorable little occasion--pipe cleaner ring and all.  Emily really wants Jack and Amanda to be happy, and she’ll pepper in those moments that were really hers to make that happen.  Although the officiant Nolan kept looking like he wanted to object and pull Emily over and have her marry Jack.  Oh Nolan, such a shipper.

ABC
Then we have Aidan who, of course, finds out that the video was from years ago.  Duh doy Aidan, these people are nasty business why would you EVER believe anything from them?  They certainly were going to have Aidan go down for Victoria’s murder in the end, and he’d have lost everything all in the name of the false hope that he could save his sister. Aidan stomps away from Emily after she pours her heart out to him about how she thought they were the same--fighting because it’s all they have left.  However, Aidan proved he’s bigger a man than most when he comes back at the end of the episode to apologize and tell her she won’t be alone as long as he’s around.  Now that’s love kiddos, I really dig Aidan and Emily which only means it’s going to end very very bloody.

ABC
The kind of bloody that the pool house is in right now.  Victoria Grayson is never someone to be trifled with.  I actually thought she made a huge mistake by telling Daniel everything, but that will once again teach me to underestimate the queen.  What’s great about this episode is after over a season and a half of being in the dark, Daniel is now balls-deep in everything.  He’s fully a Grayson now as he knows their past and the truth about the Initiative so he’s going to have to deal with the consequences of their actions.  He’s already partially risen to the occasion by driving Emily away, but that was before he saw Helen with a hole in her chest.  I can’t wait to see if Daniel will rise to the occasion or sink like The Amanda.

ABC
Alright the Amanda hasn’t sunk yet, but it’s well on it’s way down and it’s all thanks to Emily not choosing a password with both letter and numbers.  It’s nice to see Amanda try to be smart about getting what she wants, but honestly threatening Conrad with a tire iron would have been less messy in the long run here.  Not to mention that Ashley overheard it all, how is that going to come back around down the road?  Conrad folds but the other Ryan brother doesn’t so he’s on The Amanda as we speak. Say hello the arm in the boat at the beginning of the season...  They’re not going to let Jack lose his arm, unless in a weird soap opera way they’re able to reconnect it it would mean that Wechsler would have to act with just one arm from now on.  Or he could die but I’m not buying that either.

ABC
Even though iit would be ballsy as hell for them to kill a large part of their “love triangle” off, especially when you argue that part of it is already dead.  I really feel like at the end of it all, for Emily to live happily ever after wouldn’t feel authentic for the show anyway.  After all,  before you embark on a journey of revenge...dig two graves.
