'Revenge' 217 Review - "Victory"

ABC
The promos for this week’s episode of Revenge promised us that the final minutes would be shocking, but were they?
Not really.  The reveal came that Victoria has another son out there that she had when she was sixteen and gave up.  It’s not entirely a shocking revelation, but one that could certainly damage her reputation.  I wouldn’t be shocked if she had more children out there lurking around.  But the reveal was delivered via Mason Treadwell and it’s always nice to see him around again.  I wonder what other dirty little secrets he knows that will be revealed as time goes on.

ABC

I’ll hand it to the episode, it really tried to make me not trust Eli, but it was pretty clear all along that he was on Emily’s side.  The fact that he’s trying to make up for it actually being him who set the house fire all those years ago only cemented it further.  I hope we see him show up again since Emily could use more people on her side.  Even if she has it in her head that if the fire hadn’t happened Amanda might still be alive.  Sure, she might be somehow, but I doubt she’d have had that chance at love with someone like Jack.  It’s better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all Ems.

ABC
Someone needs to tell that to Jack as well, but I don’t think anything is going to stop him from his new mission which is carrying on what he thinks was Amanda’s mission.  Jack trying to take down the Graysons is going to do one of a few things.  He’s going to get hurt by them or the Initiative.  Or he’s going to get in Emily’s way and fuck her plans up royally.  Either way Jack is a horrible liar, and Emily needs to see that he’s not given up on this before it’s too late.

ABC
Now I got really excited at the idea that once Padma got her father she’d have to leave and go into hiding because I get more excited watching paint dry than watching Nolan and her share a scene, but of course nothing ever goes quite to plan.  The Initiative takes her and I’m sure it’s not the last we’ve seen of her as they made her record something on tape for them.  Before the real twist of the episode was revealed, I thought they actually cut off Padma’s head and I felt really horrible for hating her so much, but then they revealed it was just the turtle USB’s head. (Really Nolan what is it with you and your animal-shaped devices?) Then I went back to my usual suspicious self in that I still think Padma's really with the Initiative.  They brought up the mysterious better-than-Nolan Falc0n character again, and I almost wonder if it’s not someone we’ve met, maybe even Nolan's ex, Marco. We haven't heard from him in a long long time.
