'The Vampire Diaries' 416 Review - "Bring it On"

CW
Just when you thought Vampire Elena couldn’t get any worse... she got worse.
On the last episode Damon made her turn it off and in return we got an even worse version of Elena than before.  I honestly feel like the show is saying, “Oh I heard you didn’t like Elena before so look we’ve made her different, enjoy!” All while flipping us off with both hands while they moonwalk into the sunset.  Of course it just makes it worse when she lashes out that people can’t lash back, like Caroline wanting to smack the shit out of her for hurting her mom.  She has every right to bitch-slap some sense back into Elena, but when she get the chance they decided to Nerf her strength because her one lesson with Alaric has apparently made her a badass now? Dopplesnatch, you are just the most special of snowflakes aren’t you?  Clearly she must be because she hasn’t been a cheerleader for years, but they let her compete with the team at a competition.  This show and how it uses the school for dances or whenever it feels like... I could rage for days.

CW
Also, don’t even get me started on the brothers because this new bratty Elena has just made them more dominating than ever.  I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I hate that it’s their way or the highway with Elena. You guys made her this way and now it’s time to let her get messy and learn from her own damn mistakes.  Especially Stefan in this episode. But then I feel like the show is also using new Elena to mock us all when she tells Stefan that she really is the only thing he has going for himself and it’s sad.

CW
Back on the Caroline front, is this honestly the end for Tyler?  Or is this some big tease where he’ll be back for the finale.  I don’t think Travino got a pilot deal but maybe he needs to pull a Colton Haynes and head to a show that actually will use him in a significant way.  What’s even more bothersome about Tyler being gone is how much chemistry Caroline and Stefan have, and it’s getting to the point where I’m just getting annoyed with it because I know the show won’t do anything with it.  They’re both actually good for each other, but he’ll never give up the dopplesnatch because of that annoying ass “epic love” and Caroline will just get thrown at Klaus’ dick until he leaves for New Orleans.

CW
Speaking of Klaus’ dick it got a workout this episode thanks to Hayley.   I was glad to see her back and I like her chemistry with Klaus as she accepts him for the twisted fuck that he is and isn’t trying to change him.  Plus they have the whole wanting other people who happen to be together thing going for them.  Also, good lord all of their stuff was just gushing with setup for The Originals, lots of New Orleans talk and I just want it to be now.  I know for a fact that several people plan on jumping from the mothership should The Originals be picked up for series.  After tonight’s episode it’s really tempting me to do the same.
